Dmitri and I went to the farmer's market today. When we got back, we created a new list of people to target and the issues that each category has within the farmer's market.
We started with:
VENDORS:
-winter farmer's market -> awareness
-promoting farmer's market as a whole -> rebranding -> what they have seasonally, signage
-individual booth literature -> pamphlets, recipes, signs
-multi/different locations ->accessability
-"value added" -> recipes for vendors
PEOPLE THAT ATTEND (focus on families/parents):
-seasonal list
-how to use stuff
-language berrier
-kid friendly recipes
-incorporating processed foods and market foods into recipes
PEOPLE THAT DON'T ATTEND:
-awareness -> about market in general, what's available, family aspect -> "Family activities"
From there, we decided to choose two issues that we could focus in on and further flush out problems within those more specific categories.
We chose:
REBRANDING:
-the overall look and feel of the market, a solidified icon, etc.
-templates -> signage, personal promotional stuff (recipes, brochures, etc.), and awareness
stuff like fliers to draw people in, signage, etc.
-what's in season
-language barrier
HOW TO USE FOODS AVAILABLE
-what's in season/available
-recipes
-kid friendly recipes
-incorporating processed foods w/ farmer's market goods
-language barrier
-cooking as a family experience
